First Day

I get this look a lot.

Happy guy!

Pretending to be sad because he wants to stay home with me... he just does this to make me feel good because then he'll say "I'm just kidding mom!"

See, that's the "I'm just kidding" face.

New backpack with super cool Wall-E patch

And holy cow does he look like his dad

My sweet little love

Sitting up now and moving her head around like a pro. Shall we try some food soon? So darn cute!

Got my new camera just before I had to leave to get Austin from school. Had to grab a pic of my girl to christen the camera!

A nice relaxing day at the park in Brooklyn. Had to post this pic, love these two.

Trying out the super fast 17 fps super cool feature on the new digs. I won't post all 17 frames, you get the picture.

Austin's head over heels for his new sneakers. He calls them his 'rocket booster shoes'. We got them for him to play soccer in (note the one shin guard he's wearing in the picture above). We can't get them off his feet and when we do, well he ends up sleeping with them, like a new favorite stuffed animal or toy. Funny thing is I remember doing the same thing when I was a little squirt.

Austin headed off to his first day of pre-school Monday. I can't get over how quickly he is becoming quite the dashing and charming young man that he is. My baby loves school, loves his friends and adores his teachers. I am so proud of him and can't wait to pick him up at the end of the day to hear all about what he did, what they had for snack, what story they read and soon, on Friday I think, what he learned in Spanish class. Already he knows new prayers, new friends, new songs and slept like a champ Monday night after his long day of learning.

I love his enthusiasm for school and hope he never looses that... I know it will come, the day when I have to kick him out the door to make the bus in time but for now we shall bask in the lovely, happy little student that he is.

Here are a few other pictures from the past couple weeks that I've been meeting to get up.

Enjoy the pictures. Have so many more to post on our trip to Maine and how big Taylor's getting.

To Lift me up

I just experienced a store return nightmare and basically am out $200 because a monitor we bought before Taylor was born is garbage.... and I feel crappy about it and even crappier that I've allowed this little mess to get me down on a beautiful day. So what I've made of it is this, Babies R Us and Toys R Us will no longer get my business for ANYTHING and there are so many things I am going to concentrate on to lift me back up because really this is just silly.

I was surfing the net looking for photography inspiration as I often do and I visited one of my favorite children's photographer's (Skye Hardwick) blog. She has links to a few of her favorite things and there I found a blog called 'friday letters'. It's a wonderful site that coaches you to write once a week for 15 minutes, letters reflecting on what's important in life and even has a little creative direction for photographers. It's aim is to get you to sit down and write meaningful letters to you children. I may give it a try and may even post the letters along with some pictures on the blog...we'll see.

I hate how easily wound up I get over silly things, like a store not returning a piece of merchandise I bought.... maybe this will help me realize that my energy is so much more valuable than a silly box store's asinine policies and should be used to express how thankful I am for life and my life...

Ahhhhh, deep breath, hearty sighhhhhhh. Anyone want to boycott Babies R Us and Toys R Us with me :o) ?

Fun House

my and the wee-ones' feet

Daddy's boy :o)

so sweet

awesome outfit from Etsy compliments of Auntie Cathie

toesy-toes

Our babies adore one another and already have a lot of fun together. We spent a few days indoors when the weather got so hot we just couldn't stand to be outside for longer than ten minutes.

Hotter than the face of the sun

The entrance to the festival

The design of the festival was very cool...well not cool like cold because there wasn't a single tent with a/c, but it was cool like Disney style cool.

M-o-m-m-y needs c-o-f-f-e-e. Love Ralph's World!

A fun sandbox with all Tonka's new trucks. Austin threw sand in the air he was so excited, but it got in the eyes of a little girl and her dad (pictures here). We made no friends there and felt very bad because there was no cold water to rinse the sand out :o(

One of the fun tents with cartoons and coloring and stickers, but no a/c

Trying to stay cool my sweet little sugar. She almost melted she was so HOT!

The kids before the heat exhaustion hit

Shaved ice = cool

Sweet little love beginning to melt

Dancin' at the Block Party to 'Choo-choo Soul'

We had a great time, but probably would have stayed a little longer had it not been soooo...incredibly......hoooooot.....out! We got a little dancing in and sang a little bit with friends. We had a blast and that's what counts most.
